End Citizens United President Condemns Corrupt Crypto Deal Between Trump Family and UAE Government

May 02, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC — In a move that quickly raised red flags among ethics watchdogs and democracy advocates, Eric Trump appeared at a cryptocurrency conference in Dubai on Thursday to announce that World Liberty Financial—the Trump family’s crypto venture—had secured a staggering $2 billion investment from MGX, a firm controlled by the ruling family of the United Arab Emirates.

Tiffany Muller, President of End Citizens United, released the following statement condemning this brazen example of ongoing corruption by the Trump family:

“One week after the President announced a scheme to sell White House access through a shameless memecoin grift and his eldest son launched an exclusive members-only club to auction off influence within the administration, his younger son sealed a $2 billion crypto deal in Dubai with a firm tied to the scandal-plagued UAE royal family. This is state-sanctioned corruption that is specifically designed to enrich the Trump family. Every Republican in Congress who stays silent isn’t just complicit, they’re betraying the American people.”

Earlier this week, End Citizens United—one of the nation’s leading anti-corruption organizations—released a damning report detailing 100 instances of corruption, self-dealing, and chaos that have defined the first 100 days of President Donald Trump’s second term in office, including cryptocurrency scandals. The report is available in its entirety here.

Muller, a nationally recognized expert on political corruption, is available for comment on this development and the dangerous culture of corruption and self-dealing that has come to define the Trump administration.
