End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day in honor of the civil rights leader’s life and legacy:
“Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dedicated his life to ending discrimination and making government work for all Americans, not just the powerful and privileged. But there are nefarious forces at work trying to undermine the very principles of our democracy that Dr. King worked so hard to protect. Equality before the law, at the ballot, and in representation are under attack by corrupt politicians who are rigging the system to benefit their special interest allies. On this day, as we commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. King, we must continue to confront injustice in this country and work towards his vision of equal opportunity for all.”
