ICYMI: Reuters: Most Americans see Trump’s MAGA as threat to democracy: Reuters/Ipsos poll

Sep 08, 2022

new poll from Reuters/Ipsos shows that the majority of Americans believe Trump’s MAGA movement is undermining the foundations of democracy.

  • This data follows a recent CBS News poll that found 72% of voters feel there is a rising threat to democracy with 86% of voters saying that money in politics is driving the threat.

  • Quinnipiac poll also found 74% of voters believe our democracy is under threat.

  • An NBC poll that found ‘Threats to Democracy’ are the top priority for voters gearing up for this coming election.

It is not surprising that people are concerned about our democracy. Trump-inspired extremist Republicans tried to overturn the 2020 presidential election results and continue to undermine the will of the voters by pushing anti-voter policies across the country. These MAGA Republicans are a threat to our democracy because they are willing to sacrifice fair and accessible elections to advance a radical agenda to serve their extremist dark money donors.

End Citizens United // Let America Vote recently released a memo highlighting how Democratic Senate candidates in key states are running on fixing our democracy by taking on the corporate special interests and holding Republicans accountable for their extremism.
