In New Ad Theresa Greenfield Fights Back on Senator Joni Ernst’s False Claims

Jul 15, 2020

Greenfield rejects corporate PAC money; Ernst has taken over $2 million from corporate PACs over the course of her career

Theresa Greenfield released a new ad today setting the record straight after Senator Joni Ernst made false accusations about her no corporate PAC pledge.

Titled “Fight Back,” the ad reaffirms Greenfield’s pledge to not accept a dime from corporate PACs, while also exposing Ernst’s close ties to corporate special interests, including taking over $2 million in corporate PAC money and knowingly taking illegal contributions from a dark money group.

PolitiFact analysis found that “Greenfield is accurate when she says she hasn’t taken corporate PAC money.” The Cedar Rapids Gazette Fact-Checker also stated that “the Greenfield campaign has received no direct contribution from corporate PACs.”

Full Script:
I’m Theresa Greenfield.

My dad always taught me to fight back and tell it like it is.

So here’s the deal:

Our government is broken.

I won’t take a dime of corporate PAC money. Period.

Joni Ernst and her Washington friends are spreading outright lies.

Because she’s bought and paid for by the special interests.

Her campaign was even caught red-handed, taking illegal contributions from corporations.

I’m Theresa Greenfield, and I approve this message.

Because the only one I’ll ever fight for is you.
