Rep. Golden rejects corporate PAC money and has made anti-corruption reform a top priority in office
Congressman Jared Golden faced off against Dale Crafts for the final time in a debate for Maine’s Second Congressional District tonight ahead of the general election. Congressman Golden has been a champion of anti-corruption reforms since he took office and will continue that fight in his second term.
“Congressman Golden promised to take on corruption in Washington and restore the voices of Mainers that for too long have been drowned out by the influence of Big Money and corrupt, career politicians, and that’s exactly what he’s done,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “He’s got the receipts to prove it. Jared led the fight to pass the For the People Act (H.R. 1), the most sweeping anti-corruption, voting rights, and ethics bill in a generation. He supported democracy reform legislation that shines light on dark money in politics and safeguards against foreign interference in political campaigns. The Congressman even unveiled his own plan to crack down on corruption in both parties. The status quo might be standing in the way but Jared is leading the charge for reform in Washington.”
