Nearly $5 million in corporate and billionaire-backed dark money carried Oz across the finish line
After a chaotic, free-for-all intra-party fight where New Jersey-based TV host Mehmet Oz was propped up by nearly $5 million in spending by outside special interests to survive one of the nastiest GOP Senate primaries, it is clear that he wants to go to the Senate to help himself and his wealthy dark money backers. Throughout the primary, the Jersey TV star consistently catered to wealthy special interests–from backing a plan to raise taxes on 35% of Pennsylvanians while cutting taxes for corporate America and wealthy elites like himself to sunsetting Medicare and Social Security.
Fortunately, Pennsylvanians have an anti-corruption champion in Pennsylvania native, Lt. Governor John Fetterman, who will fight to give a voice for working Pennsylvania families.
