Fresh off of a primary win, Hickenlooper leads Gardner 51-40 percent
Biden leads Trump 56-39 percent
A new poll of Colorado voters, commissioned by End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) and conducted by Public Policy Polling (PPP), shows Governor John Hickenlooper leads Senator Cory Gardner 51-40 percent heading into the general election. Joe Biden leads President Donald Trump 56-39 percent.

The poll also finds that the majority of Colorado voters, 64 percent, believe that politicians in Washington support policies that benefit corporate special interests that help fund their campaigns. Fifty-nine percent of Coloradans support the For the People Act (H.R. 1/S. 949), a once-in-a-generation anti-corruption, government reform and voting rights bill, despite Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senator Cory Gardner’s refusal to allow an up or down vote on the legislation.
“Fresh off of a primary win, Governor Hickenlooper is well positioned to take on and defeat Senator Gardner,” said ECU and LAV President Tiffany Muller. “Coloradans want a transparent, accountable leader who will always put their interests ahead of corporate special interests. Senator Gardner has taken $5.4 million from corporate PACs and tried to gut the ACA because his donors demanded it. And Gardner has spent the last four years protecting Donald Trump’s back, despite all of the corruption that comes with it. John Hickenlooper, who is refusing corporate PAC money, will put Colorado first, not Donald Trump or big political donors. Coloradans are energized by his commitment to changing the status quo in Washington.”
PPP surveyed 840 Colorado voters from June 29-30 2020. The margin of error is +/- 3.4%.
ECU and LAV endorsed John Hickenlooper in April 2020 because of his commitment to reforming our broken campaign finance system and protecting the right to vote. Hickenlooper recently unveiled a bold democracy reform agenda. The Protecting Our Democracy plan includes prioritizing the passage of the For the People Act (S. 949), overturning Citizens United, restoring the Voting Rights Act, and rejecting corporate PAC money.
