Rep. Rodney Davis and His Allies Remain Mum on Money He’s Taken From Corrupt Utility Giant

Aug 04, 2020

Davis has taken $58,000 from Exelon, ComEd’s parent company

It’s been more than two weeks since ComEd admitted to bribery charges by federal prosecutors for its corrupt lobbying practices that led to favorable legislation for the utility giant.

According to a class action lawsuit against ComEd: “Through rampant and widespread corruption in the form of bribery of Illinois elected officials, ComEd and its parent company, Exelon Corporation, deprived ratepayers of vast sums of money, totaling in the hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars.”

“Congressman Rodney Davis and his corporate special interest allies are trying to deflect attention from the PAC money he’s cashed from ComEd’s parent company, which was named in the lawsuit,” said ECU Communications Director Patrick Burgwinkle. “Rodney Davis is in no position to criticize the corrupt scheme when his own campaign coffers are tainted with $58,000 from Exelon’s corrupt corporate PAC, including $10,000 for his 2020 campaign.”

Illinois voters deserve to know the full extent of Congressman Rodney Davis’ relationship with Exelon and the corporate PAC money he’s cashed from the corrupt energy giant.
