Rodney Davis Must Come Clean About His Ties To Corrupt Utility Giant

Sep 09, 2020

Davis has taken $58,000 from Exelon’s corporate PAC

Congressman Rodney Davis, who was hand-picked by party bosses to lead the opposition to the largest anti-corruption legislation since Watergate, is on the air with a desperate and misleading attack ad to distract from his own corruption.

Davis, who has been quick to go on the attack about the corrupt scheme involving ComEd and Exelon, has refused to come clean about the $58,000 he’s taken from Exelon’s corporate PAC since 2012, including $10,000 for his 2020 campaign.

“Rodney Davis has truly mastered the art of deflection during his tenure in Washington,” said Tiffany Muller, president of End Citizens United. “Davis’ words hold absolutely no weight because he’s the only candidate in the IL-13 race who has taken money directly from Exelon’s corporate PAC. Now he’s trying to distract voters so they don’t question the full extent of his relationship with the utility giant.

“The truth is Rodney Davis is mired in corruption. Whether it’s his votes opposing anti-corruption reforms or the $3.4 million he’s taken from corporate PACs, Davis has become a representative for party bosses and corporate special interests, not Illinois families.”
