End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s decision to allow Alabama’s extreme gerrymander to remain in place:
“The Supreme Court’s extreme majority, backed by millions in dark money, continues to show how deeply out of step it is with the American people and the grave reality facing the freedom to vote in this country. Yesterday, they decided to allow an extreme racial gerrymander to remain in place in Alabama for the 2022 election, which will dilute the voice and power of Black voters. This egregious decision places the remaining parts of the Voting Rights Act in jeopardy and underscores the dire need for Congress to act to protect the freedom to vote and increase protections against racial gerrymandering.”
