Despite the name, Together for Nevada’s Future is a Texas-based super PAC boosting fellow Texan Sam Brown
Texan Sam Brown, who has been a walking campaign finance violation throughout his numerous failed campaigns, has gotten a recent boost from the newly-formed, Texas-based super PAC, Together for Nevada’s Future. This is just the latest super PAC that has been created seemingly just to support Brown’s campaign – highlighting his reliance on Big Money super PACs.
“Scam Brown continues to shuffle through shady super PACs that have the sole purpose of propping up his failing campaign,” said End Citizens United spokesperson Jonas Edwards-Jenks. “With the Texas cavalry coming with last-minute support for Brown, it shows that you can take Brown out of Texas, but you can’t take the Texan out of Brown. Unfortunately for him, Nevadans won’t be fooled by this latest gambit by out-of-state millionaires looking to buy this seat. But it does beg the question: what has Brown promised to these donors and how involved was he in the formation of this new group?”
The facts:
- Together for Nevada’s Future, a super PAC that was just created in June, has recently begun running positive ads promoting Brown’s campaign for U.S. Senate in Nevada.
- Brown’s previous super PAC, Duty First Nevada, was shut down in July after Brown won the Republican primary for U.S. Senate.
- Despite its name, Together for Nevada’s Future is registered in Texas by a big Republican law firm.
- None of the Together for Nevada’s Future’s funding has come from Nevadans.
- The super PAC hasn’t supported any candidate other than Brown.
- Together for Nevada’s Future has received $200,000 from the organization Ardleigh Impact Corp., a mysterious right-wing dark money nonprofit.
- The non-partisan Campaign Legal Center (CLC) alleged in a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) that Ardleigh is operating as a “straw donor scheme” and is simply a front to allow big donors to funnel money to help campaigns like Brown without being caught.
ECU has filed three complaints against Brown this cycle alleging campaign finance violations: ECU’s first complaint alleged Brown illegitimately used a political action committee that was marketed to help elect Republicans to Congress to instead retire his old campaign debt. The second complaint alleged potential illegal coordination between Brown’s 2022 campaign and a super PAC that was set up by Brown’s top allies in his primary against Adam Laxalt. The third complaint alleged Brown blatantly accepting an illegal in-kind contribution from Duty First Nevada (DFN) PAC, a super PAC established to solely support Brown’s campaign.
