End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the results of the VA-07 primary:
“Congratulations to Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger on advancing to the general election. Throughout her time in Congress, she’s always put the people of Virginia first, listening to everyone she represents, no matter which party they’re in. Spanberger is leading the bipartisan charge to ban members of Congress from trading stocks to ensure that self-serving politicians can’t use their positions of power to line their own pockets. She holds regular town halls in every corner of her district, and has never taken a single dime from corporate PACs, so Virginians know she’s working for them–and only them. She’s fought to create jobs in Virginia, increasing training and apprenticeship opportunities, all while taking on corporate greed in Washington, so small businesses in Virginia can thrive. We look forward to continuing to work with her and help her get re-elected in November so that she can continue the incredible work she has started.
“Spanberger is running against Prince William County Supervisor Yesli Vega, a radical, out-of-touch politician who is too extreme for Virginia. Vega has bragged about how radical she is, and has mocked and made personal attacks against her political opponents and constituents. Unlike Congresswoman Spanberger, Vega can’t work with both parties to get results for working Virginia families. She’s too focused on her personal, petty, partisan politics to represent the people of Virginia.”
