Nevada Republican Senate candidate Adam Laxalt refused to commit to certifying the 2024 election if he is elected to the U.S. Senate. When asked by a reporter at an event if he would vote to overturn the 2024 presidential election results if elected, Laxalt would not answer the question and repeated false claims about the 2020 election to defend his dangerous refusal to accept future results of the 2024 election.
“Nevadans deserve better than someone who wants to sabotage their elections and undermine the voice and vote of the people,” said End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller. “His dangerous and self-serving lies have no place in the United States Senate.”
Laxalt became well known in 2020 for filing several lawsuits on behalf of Donald Trump to stop the counting of Nevada ballots and perpetuating the Big Lie that the election was stolen, including falsely accusing military families of voter fraud. A recent report from the AP revealed that Laxalt is planning to preemptively file lawsuits and lie about voter fraud to try to overturn election results if he loses the senate race in 2022.
