Poll Also Finds Strong Support for Candidates Who Take Up the Mantle of Reform with 62% More Likely to Support a Candidate Who Refuses Corporate Money
Washington, D.C. – A new poll commissioned by End Citizens United (ECU) and conducted by PPP shows Jason Crow, candidate for Colorado’s 6th Congressional district, leading incumbent Congressman Mike Coffman by five points, 44 to 39 percent. Click here to see the polling results.
The poll also found strong support for Jason Crow’s commitment to reject corporate PAC money, with 62% of Coloradans more likely to support a candidate who will not accept money from corporate special interests. In the poll, after voters learned of Crow’s commitment to reject corporate PAC money, his lead over Congressman Coffman grows to ten points. The numbers are consistent with other polling commissioned by ECU, including in Texas, showing voter support for candidates who reject corporate PAC money.
“Voters are fed up with the way Washington does business and they’re demanding reform,”said ECU President Tiffany Muller. “It’s no surprise that Coloradans are rallying behind Jason Crow and his commitment to reject corporate PAC money. Congressman Coffman has taken almost $1.7 million from corporate special interests and he’s made a career of putting donors ahead of Coloradans. It will come back to haunt him on Election Day.”
In December, ECU named Congressman Coffman to its Big Money 20 target list for the 2018 midterms. The members of the Big Money 20 are incumbents who do the bidding of special interests while also voting to keep the rigged system in place. In Coffman’s case, whose district includes the location of the Aurora theater shooting, he has benefitted from over $100,000 from the gun lobby — more than any other member of Congress from Colorado and opposed popular, common sense gun reform bills. He also voted for the bill to repeal health care and the GOP tax bill that disproportionately favors the wealthy at the expense of lower-income Americans.

PPP surveyed 751 Colorado 6 voters from February 15-18, 2018. The margin of error is +/- 3.6%. This poll was conducted by automated telephone interviews.
Founded in 2015, ECU is a traditional political action committee (PAC) with more than three million members, including 6,400 in CO-06. The grassroots-powered group is dedicated to electing members of Congress who, like Crow, will fight to get big money out of politics.
